Sound of Sunshine - I Do All My Crying in the Rain

This is one hard to find song used in the movie "The Assassination of Richard Nixon". I really don't know the melody of this music and I hardly noticed on what part of the movie the music was played. A co-member, Mel, in a Music Collectors forum asked for the title and the artist of this song. She remembered just the first two lines of the song and she has posted and searched for it on other sites but she was always given the song by the Everly Brothers - Crying in the Rain. According to her it was sung by a group sounding like The Lettermen.

I tried searching for the song until I stumbled on yahoo answers site. I've searched for the song from Youtube but I only got a song by Sounds of Sunshine - Love Means You Never Have To Say You're Sorry, which when I heard really sounded like The Lettermen. I've tried searching for a copy, at least a sample of the song but I didn't find any. I've posted the information I've gathered on the forum anyway, at least we have a lead on the title and the artist of this song.

Last night I've tried searching again and I stumbled on en.allexperts.com, one of the sites where Mel posted her query of this song. Lou Simon provided a phone number of the recording studio of the Wilder Brothers, who sang the song, in Los Angeles. I immediately asked a favor from a friend based in California to call the number for me and inquire about the song. He was able to contact the number but he was told that the song was sung by The Beach Boys. He said that the receptionist sounded young and doesn't seem to know the song.

The long search has ended tonight, I've finally grab hold of a copy of this song, shared by a co-member, Wilbert,  who is a certified vinyl collector, ripped from his 45 rpm vinyl. It is such a beautiful song that I repeatedly listened to it as I write this blog ... down below is a youtube video of the song from his own youtube channel. Thank you so much Kuya Wilbert. :)

I do all my crying in the rain
When no one knows my teardrops from the rain
They think I've forgotten you
They don't know what I go throughhhh

I do all my crying in the rain
When no one knows how much I feel the pain
Just like any men I've got my pride
I keep all the hurt inside

I'm the great pretender and I put on quite a show
I fooled everyone but me
'cause i still love you so oh oh

I do all my crying in the rain
But teardrops just won't bring her back again
Raindrops won't you set me free
Sunshine bring her back to me

I'm the great pretender and I put on quite a show
I fooled everyone but me
'cause I still love you so oh oh

I do all my crying in the rain
But teardrops just won't bring her back again
Raindrops won't you set me free
Sunshine bring her back to me

(fading)
Da ra da ra ra ra da da da ra ra ra
Raindrops won't you set me free
